The twins are seven weeks old. Wow, even though I never forget that the first weeks go by so fast, it still shocks me HOW fast. One moment I am nursing my baby(ies) on their first day, next thing they are a month old....then before I know it. BAM!
Times flies. It truly does.
But there is no point in trying to keep up. If we rush the days, they become years.
If we can slow down and appreciate the moments, they will be days. And all we really have is this moment. (thanks for spending it here with me ;) for a bit)
So, after seven weeks, there is really no excuse to not be back into the swing of things. BUT! I say, the magical six weeks allotted postpartum mothers should most certainly be doubled when you have twins. Plus and extra two if you have your baby(ies) any time around Christmas. AAAAAND, that means you have a newborn (s) during winter, if living in Canada especially, so tack on a month for surviving bitter cold and snow with your baby(ies) - I'd say it's only fair that I stay in bed nursing for, what is that, 18 weeks?
excellent.
someone tell my life.
But here we are. I am slowly recovering from a terrible head cold that really made me a good 'ol grump last week.
The babies are doing well, healthy and growing like they have something to prove.
And everyone else, they are begining to get back into life. Programs and lessons have started back up. We are pulling out "schoolish" stuff again. The tv is on less (yay!) and our new normal has arrived.
It includes two very strong willed and opinionated baby boys. They like attention - a lot of it. They make messes, a lot of them. They fill our hearts with joy by just exsisting.
And they don't like being put down much. haha
